5 Reasons Why You Should Advertise On Facebook

Advertising has always been evolving over the past few years. While traditional advertising is still the most common way of reaching out to your target audience, digital and social media advertising is growing at a faster rate in the dynamic market. Social media advertising is a more cost effective solution and reaches out to a larger audience.

Facebook is one of the largest social media platforms that gives brands the opportunity to tell their stories and connect with their customers on a one on one basis. Here are 5 reasons why Facebook is a great advertising platform:

1. Facebook has a large audience and high user activity

With over 1.86 billion users worldwide, Facebook is the most popular social media website today. It also has the highest user activity. In a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center from March 7 to April 4, 2016, 76% of Facebook users login daily. This goes to show that advertising on Facebook can give you higher chances of reaching your target audience.

2. Advertising on Facebook is cost effective

Facebook lets advertisers manage their own budget. It allows advertisers to decide on how much they are willing to shell out for an ad and how long it will remain active. What’s more, the ads will only be shown to users who are more likely to take action, making advertisers reach the right audience at a lower cost. Facebook also has lower advertising rates compared to Google AdWords.

3. Detailed Targeting

Facebook allows advertisers to create custom ads that will target specific audiences. Compared with paid search marketing, advertising on Facebook is based onpeople’s behaviours, location, interest, demographics, etc. Paid search marketing targets consumers using specific keywords that they search online. People are more likely to be interested and click on ads that are relevant to them, which leads to a higher click-through-rate (CTR). They will also like and share the ad with their Facebook friends which makes it a free advertising push for your brand.

4. Mobile audience

Facebook’s ad revenues in the fourth quarter of 2016 were at $8.6bn wherein $7.2bn came from mobile advertising revenue. This only shows that the social media network can reach users that are away from their desktops or laptops. Advertisements can be done through the Facebook app or via Instagram which is also owned by Facebook.

5. Facebook allows A/B testing

When doing an advertising campaign, advertisers always want to make sure that they get the best results from their ads. Facebook has an option to A/B test or split test the ads. This is a way to find out which images, ad body copy, ad headlines, and call-to-actions will work best on your target audience. The benefit of A/B testing is it allows advertisers to save money.
